This desk looks great, just like I expected. The installation was easy, I don’t know why people say they struggled. I followed the directions and it all worked out. Swivel part isn’t hard to put together as well, you just need to be clever. The tool that comes with it is a bit short, I just taped it to a long stick and it worked perfectly. I bought this for my son, who needed a desk but doesn't have a large room. The desk opens and closes very easily, but he keeps it open all the time anyway. We liked it so much that we bought another one for my other son, too. It was just a few months later, but the price had gone up (boo). but they changed the assembly on the rotating part and it's MUCH easier now (yay). The desk is so sleek looking and functions great for their needs.

It is kind of hard to attach both pieces completely. There is not enough room to strategically place the nuts and bolts when connecting the two pieces. I ended up only attaching 3 out of the 4 nuts and bolts because I was unable to fit my hand far enough between the two for the last one. But it looks great, directions were simple, almost too simple. there were no words.

I wanted to give this item four stars however I ran into some issues assembling it that may reduce sturdiness and stability. When it came time to add the circular screw locks or stabilizers to lock certain pieces together the premade holes were higher than the screws and neither locked. Also I could not get the pieces out and ended up just using wood glue to hold the pieces together. It’s not terrible once put together, I like it pretty well. But a few things; I didn’t get the nice glossy finish. It definitely said glossy in the description when I purchased it. It doesn’t anymore, so perhaps it’s a per seller sort of thing, be careful with that. Ingenious little desk. Looks great in my boss's small office. Shelving is great for baskets. This was the easiest to assemble furniture I've ever purchased. I'm lost on why anyone would say otherwise. The metal swivel turns easily and at 90 degrees gives all the space you need to attach to each piece. My girlfriend (who has used it for her workspace at home) loves the design and quality.

This is a very attractive and sturdy desk for the price.Putting this desk together was a breeze to me! I also love assembling furniture so.My only concern is that the edges of the desk are already getting worn by for example rubbing my arm on the edge. This split level desk is perfect for me, as I wanted something that served as a desk and a nightstand. I, too, was expecting a glossy finish; but, I am in love with this matte woodgrain look. My 66 year old self put it together in just over an hour but will admit the swivel piece was challenging.

The assembly of this desk did post some problems at times but if you’re pretty handy and if you have tools outside of the one that they provided you should be OK. Other than the screws that were able to go inside of a hole and you had to turn counterclockwise we’re kind of difficult also with the swivel with the same thing this desk is golden and well worth the money.

Works for me! The materials aren’t the best quality, but I managed my expectations based on the price. I really like that you have the ability to straighten the desk or have it in an L shape.
