I love this floating moon and use it as a light source on my bedroom table. Don't worry it floats, start about 2 inches above the base in the center. The LED is bright enough to read the readings and mine never stopped spinning. You can turn the LED light on or off by pressing the switch on the wooden base. Everyone who has seen it is surprised and asks me where I got it.

The photos they post seem totally wrong compared to what you get. The 3D printed moon is a bit rough. I'm not sure what diameter or speed was used, but using slower and thinner strands would make it look a lot cleaner. The only thing I hate is that it looks like they print the top and then glue the bottom with a device that allows it to levitate, but it was very uneven. This is a little gem which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's not for reading or adding light, it's just a cool thing that will make you happy. It spins all day, but it takes a touch to get it spinning again about once a day. Need instructions on getting this unit airborne other than telling you to be patient? As you begin, you will see that one end of the moon is weighted down with a magnet, which is obviously the underside of the moon, directly opposite the base. The instructions tell you to gently lower the moon, cupped hands, from a height of 6 inches; this part is correct.
