Great monitor in my opinion

Virwsonic isn't a cool monitor company anymore, but I still use them in a lot of studio setups because of their reliability. I have first generation 1080p panels that lasted 8000 hours and are now moving to new studios. One of the last two had its bezel ripped off, probably a packaging error, and looked like it had fallen to the ground at some point - cement dust. was found on the panel. It wasn't a problem, it just showed that although the panel is mostly plastic, it can withstand rough handling. Repairing it was a matter of prying open the broken bezel, reinstalling the panel, blowing out the cement dust, and carefully reassembling the unit. Like new. As shown, these devices are great for paired displays on VESA mounts. The included monitor lizards are a weak point in the design. But the VESA mount means their mounts end up being stock. In a 40 monitor setup I buy four with trees and then wire them all VESA standard which saves me four trees in case I need to install some of them. A

Easy setup and customization

While it's true that you tend to set up a monitor just once and then use it for a long time, I hate standing on my head to connect something and then having major problems getting the height right and find inclination. This monitor is really basic compared to my other old flat screens. It's lightweight and easy to set up and connect. I also like the anti-glare coating, which noticeably reduces glare in my office. There's no obvious cable management system, so I used some inexpensive cable stickers to keep the cables neat and out of the way.

Pros & cons

  • 17.2 x 9.4 x 22.5 inches
  • makes me angry

Fantastic ! - my new rating

The best monitor I've ever used. Beautiful color, realism, contrast, brightness. If I had to buy it again I would buy a MUCH larger curved monitor. Like big flat screen TVs. As long as there is enough space and the decision maker agrees, BIGGER is almost always BETTER!

Pros & cons

  • Limited ergonomics

Excellent peripheral with sharp, detailed images

This monitor was easy to install. The product description was accurate enough. However, it does not say how sharp the picture is. It's bright and very easy to see. It is best described as a matte or anti-glare image. This monitor has features I usually associate with a more expensive monitor. While the 22 inch display is great, I'd like to try a larger monitor.

Pros & cons

  • electronics
  • Low refresh rate

Not bad for a refurbished monitor

Pros: As with the daisy chain feature, there is no longer a cable from the computer. Cons: The monitor can be moved about 1 inch closer to the table. Minimum. 3-4 inches and max. 7-8 inches from the table. I'm a tall guy, but I'd rather look down at the monitor than up.

Pros & cons

  • Packaging is not nice

Very important. Very capable.

We bought 2 of them and mounted them on a double bracket that we ordered at the same time. They were perfect as we wanted to connect them to a work laptop. It didn't work perfectly through no fault of the monitors. The limitation was on a 5 year old laptop. HDMI does not support dual setting. However, with one on HDMI and the other on VGA, the next best result was achieved. I still give the monitors a five star rating.

Pros & cons

  • Problems using dueling monitors on all three machines, but otherwise it's fine to use
  • The monitor is too heavy to move.

This was a 4 inch upgrade for us.

Great upgrade for our home PC. The display is clear, sharp and bright. Easy installation. They offer two different cables, but our connection was an "old fashioned" pin connection. We were able to use our existing cable, no problem. We also like the monitor's retractable neck. Husband likes higher but i prefer lower. This is a great monitor for our needs.

Cool monitor! good for me

Great monitor. I am very happy with the VG2449 and particularly happy with the blue light technology that ViewSonic uses in some of their monitors. I think they've done an excellent job of maintaining good colors while greatly reducing high-energy blue light that can be harmful. Eye strain is greatly reduced when using this monitor.

Pros & cons

  • FLEXIBLE CONNECTION: The VG2449 supports laptops, PCs, Macs and POS systems with HDMI, DisplayPort (with daisy chain support) and VGA inputs.
  • There are more interesting options.

problems and headaches

I'm literally sweating trying to set up this monitor and it still doesn't work. The monitor comes with a connector and two cables. One cable is USB and the other is, you guessed it, just as good as mine. Let's start with a quick guide that doesn't clearly explain which cable goes where. Basically you have a photo of the back of your monitor and the back of your computer (desktop). In between you have a diagram of different cables but no description of what each cable does and where it goes. It will then show you an image where to paste the plug-in and then proceed to install the installer from the CD. Well it doesn't work. I had to call tech support and tell them that when I turn on the monitor I see the ViewSonic in the center of the screen and then they tell me there is no signal. What does that mean.? I've set up all my computers with no problems, but this is really frustrating. When I speak to tech support, they ask me questions like "Is the connection between the monitor and the…

There was never a signal in my survey.

Not even worth one star. The only thing I could do about it was it told me "No signal". Connected via HDMI, DP, DP mini and .no signal. Four different laptops. no signal. The user manual isn't good - it was removed when I was instructed to put the CD in the CD. What?

Pros & cons

  • 1920x1080 pixels
  • Static Noise: If the monitor signal is not strong enough, static noise may appear on the display.

An excellent computer monitor for all users, amazing picture and quick response.

Clean, sharp image. The monitor is anti-glare, responsive and performs well in everyday tasks and games. It features a variety of modern video input connections and the ability to daisy chain an additional monitor via the DisplayPort. Great monitor for eye care. Has a slight halo effect with Blue Light Filter turned on at 100%, which can also be noticeable at lower settings, but not as severe. The monitor is highly configurable, supporting various pan/tilt, vertical view, vertical up/down position and monitor rotation settings for easy viewing by others or shared viewing. Overall For the average user, gamer, and office or home office user, this monitor works great in all scenarios. I personally use it for web browsing, home office, small business, gaming and light YouTube video editing.

Pros & cons

  • Good products, great product for the price. I think this product is worth it.
  • Non-intuitive menu system
