Great USB-C monitor, but you still need external speakers

Great monitor for its price range. The USB Type-C connection is very reliable and allows you to connect a USB-C laptop with just 1 cable, and if you are using it for a non-USB-C device you can connect via HDMI or Make DP and also make a USB connection. Cable B to enable the USB Type-A hub on the monitor. A USB hub is great if you have multiple devices that you switch between work and personal laptops and want to instantly connect to other USB devices (e.g. a docking station). I leave my…

Great for performance

Great patchwork quilt. Nice and sharp picture. Good brightness. Text mode (Eyekeeper is great) The only thing I've found is that it actually creates a fuzzy amount of motion blur when playing. I'm just a casual player and don't usually realize it, but I deal with it organically. so keep that in mind. Otherwise great monitor

Great monitor for a Macbook Pro if you want to save on cables

I have a 2016 13" Macbook Pro. The included USB-C cable (monitor to PC) and power cord (wall to monitor) allow you to power your monitor, keep your PC charged, and connect peripherals to an outlet These peripherals are powered (e.g. to charge a USB power bank) and can also communicate with your computer if necessary (e.g. a USB webcam can pump out), charges the computer via a data cable and passes the USB signal from the peripherals downstream to the computer. It does everything!Very happy with…

Excellent value for money - fully recommended.

Use it as a standalone monitor in a small upstairs home office. As nice as it is to have a 4K monitor, I really don't see the point in spending an extra $200-$300 on it as I won't be watching movies on it, just movies mostly. However, the QHD is great for general personal and office work, including tasks like software development. Features the latest popular connectivity options - USB-C 3.1 / HDMI 1.4 / DisplayPort / and USB 3.0 inputs. I like the almost non-existent bevels on the top and…

Won't charge MacBook Pro despite some reviews

The monitor is normal, nothing more. I bought it because I needed it to support pass-through charging for my MacBook Pro so I could reduce the number of cables on my desk. be the case. I even bought a 3.1 USB-C cable but no luck. Unfortunately I don't think it has enough power.

Great product for the price

Please note that you need a dedicated USB C cable for this monitor to work with a Macbook Pro or any other laptop. I read a review that said you need a USB C 3.1 cable so I bought an Anker cable. Review says it transmits video, but it doesn't. The reason the review says this is because it uses all wired versions, so there is a version that works. However, I bought the following: 60W [3.3ft 10Gb/s] USB-C to USB-C Cable, iVANKY USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Power Delivery Fast Charging Cable with 4K Video…

Great monitor for MacBook Pro and general use

Great monitor for the price, used with a 2019 MacBook Pro. The best thing about this monitor is the USB-C port, which allows the MacBook to charge and transfer images with a single cable. The panel is fine. There are no dead pixels, the image quality is good. It has a matte finish that isn't as pretty as the MacBook's glossy finish, but is easier to clean. I had a scratch on the screen due to shipping damage. I ordered a replacement and it arrived with no problems. The monitor has a 60Hz…

Good picture, disappointing USB-C refresh rate and performance

This monitor has a good screen and features and is suitable for general use. As many have mentioned, the stand is great. My biggest issue with this monitor is that it only delivers 30Hz from the USB-C port, which the documentation doesn't state, and that there isn't enough current going through that port to run a Macbook Pro 16 under moderate/heavy load to supply with electricity. what I was expecting, but it seems pretty lame. So if you want to play a game you need to plug in the power adapter

Done - some minor issues

All in all, this is a really excellent monitor. The cost isn't the lowest, but it's not the highest either. The picture is crystal clear and that's the main thing. The stand is one of the best I've seen. Smaller but robust and packed with features. I also tip my hat to Viewsonic for molded paper packaging instead of styrofoam. Very nice environmental note and you deserve a star for that alone. I hope more companies follow this path. There are a few issues I'll list, but mostly quibbles. 1 - The

Good monitor for the money

The monitor is used at my 3 screen workstation for CAD and PDF work. Good monitor with clear picture. He has a habit of showing me a black screen and no input messages about once a week. My other two monitors don't. To do this, I have to unplug the power cord and plug it back in to clean it. I keep using it because the price is right. This device is just over a year old.

Great monitor but below average sound quality

I really like this monitor. It has fantastic picture quality. It has a beautiful facade with nice and subtle borders. Adjustable height and angle are very useful. However, the built-in speakers are pretty terrible. I swapped out my external speakers when this monitor arrived which was a mistake. Now I rely on my laptop's headphones and speakers. In comparison, the built-in speakers on my MBP are much better.

Excellent 2560x1440 monitor with USB Type-C port

This is a great monitor for the 2019 MacBook Pro. Apart from the pros mentioned by other reviewers. I would like to highlight 3 plus points. It comes with a USB Type-C cable, so you don't have to buy a separate USB Type-C cable. It has a strong, durable base that prevents it from tipping over easily. The power provided by the monitor can charge my 2019 MacBook Pro 15".

Great USB-C laptop office monitor

I use this to extend my Macbook's screen for office applications. My main need is a sharp image for smooth text and app windows, and at 1440p the image is sharp enough for my needs. There seems to be a bit of confusion as to which cables are included in the box. Can't tell if ViewSonic recently changed what they include, but mine (bought in July 2020) included a USB-C 3.1 cable. The cool thing is that a Mac or USB-C laptop can plug in video, connect any device plugged into the monitor's USB-A…

Great monitor, especially for the price

Other reviewers here have noted all the good things about this monitor, I'd just like to add that 1-) the adjustable stand is extra easy to use and comfortable for long hours and avoids neck pain and 2-) a reminder that they only come with the monitor a Displayport/USB cable and an HDMI cable included, even if the monitor supports USB-C. If you're using Mojave 10.14 or later, the Displayport and HDMI adapters just won't work, the Macbook will never see the monitor. You *have* to get a USB-C…

DO NOT update the firmware on this monitor

Updated Rating: 5/5 Stars ViewSonic's customer service was excellent. They admitted there was a problem updating the firmware on macOS and sent me a replacement monitor and prepaid label to ship mine back in the same box. The new monitor came with the latest firmware and works perfectly. They said they would fix a bug that corrupts monitors when updating firmware, but I still won't risk updating this monitor. Aside from the firmware update issue, the only other complaint I have is that the…

Nice, sharp, easy adjustment, great guarantee

I've read a number of comments about IPS displays having backlight issues (excessive brightness in the corners, "bleed through", etc.). I don't see such a disadvantage with this display. The brightness shines down and down fairly evenly. The controls (brightness, contrast, etc.) are easily accessible and easy to use. The 2560 x 1440 resolution and 27-inch size bring it as close as possible to a 27-inch iMac (up to Retina, of course). I'd like a glossy display (as I love it on an iMac), but I…
