The stand is well weighted. Very nice matt stealing. Razor hangers probably work better with safety razors than modern cartridge razors, but I use Harry's razors and they hold them up well. The brackets for hanging the brush have sharp-cut edges. I suspect Viking brand brushes will probably work better with this stand. My brush is made of plastic. When I hang it by the top of the handle, there are significant scratches on the handle. They can be erased, but I expect the pen to wear out over…

Love this razor. It holds my brush and razor well. The stand itself is very sturdy and not without its charms, but as some have noted, the matte finish means the base has water stains, so it can look a bit rustic. I would also say that so far none of my brushes fit the way I had imagined. They fit but not at the handle but where the handle meets the bristles so it fits again but not in the way I expected. Not for product promotion purposes to inform other buyers. This is a well-made stand and a worthwhile purchase. It won't rust in the shower or on a wet vanity. I'm sure it will work great with Vikings own razors. But while the product description says it works great with Viking razors, it says nothing about whether it will work well with other razors.
