Villa Acacia Small Wood Cutting Board - Premium 12 Inch Wooden Board for Fruits and Vegetables Review

Well I've ordered twice and both times received defective items with cracks. There doesn't seem to be any QC check. I emailed them after the first order as they are made by a small company in the US but got no response. There were high hopes, but they were disappointed!

The item I received had gaps where the boards splintered at the ends. It appears that the wood has not properly cured and the boards have shrunk after manufacture or they were not sawn straight and pressed together during gluing. All three slots traversed the sap grove so the sap was clearly not included.

there were about three spots on this board that i thought were flaws, there were open cracks in the wood which i thought were could get worse with use and washing, it was too thick for my use, I think 1-1/2 inches, very heavy, and it didn't have the rubber feet on the bottom that usually help them stay in place and on the counter Stay in place, it slipped too much, unstable. I had to go back.

I just have to say how much I love this new cutting board. I decided to buy my husband a new heavy cutting board for grilling. I was a little embarrassed at first about buying a new cutting board online, but trust me it was a great decision! I've seen them in retail stores in the $100+ range. Although I bought this for my husband, I will use it too :)

Love it! Very thick and durable, this cutting board is just the right size for cutting small items. At first I thought a finishing touch could be used as the surface was a bit rough. But after washing and conditioning with edible mineral oil, everything was fine. The side grooves used as handles are shallow and well designed. It makes a great display when not in use, the different wood tones are great. Very happy with this purchase.

We needed a small chopping board for everyday use. It's just the two of us so we don't need much. We have another larger cutting board made out of plastic and glass. I am not very happy with this board - the noise when cutting is loud. This Villa Acacia Board is PERFECT, no loud grinding noise, easy to clean. The only issue we have with this board is the grip grooves on the sides as they make cleaning difficult (dirt build-up). Otherwise a perfect chopping board for small portions.

I thought I overpaid the fee considering the size advertised. After receiving it I was very satisfied. I bought several cutting boards with the intention of gifting ONE to a loved one. This board won by a mile. The thickness of the plate is GREATER than 1/2 inch. It's actually an inch thick. What is its advantage: the board was wrapped in plastic film and in a box, so you can wrap it with gift paper. The instructions that came with it were clear and easy to understand.
