I bought them for embroidery and other small hand sewing jobs. I actually didn't need any more embroidery scissors, but they were so pretty and the price wouldn't let me go without them. The quality isn't necessarily the best and I have others that cut better and are easier to use, but these are so cute. In general I am very happy with them. Much better than I expected! I love them, they are sharp, comfortable and stylish. I recently bought some gingher scissors because I thought they would be good for embroidery and cut those threads very tightly but they don't do the job I wanted. The tips don't cut as well or as accurately as these. You cut at the tip of the scissors as close to the fabric as possible. I am very impressed and will be ordering another pair as a backup as I have not found others that cut the ends as well.
