VIVOSUN 8 Inch Noise 🔇 Reduction Silencer for Inline Duct Fan Review

This is an affordable gear, it can be better right? will it cost more? Yes. I picked it for its price, and to see how well it works I have to admit that it lowers the DB level by a decent amount, but not to my satisfaction. The moving air will make noise. but if this reducer was longer it would be even better. I am happy with the purchase but I may look for a longer reducer in the future or build my own.

Installed on my 8" duct coming from an attic fan I use to suck smoke out of my smoking room. Others have commented that the fan noise is annoying and that solved the problem pretty well. This unit was cheaper than any I found online and appears to be almost half as quiet as it was before installing it. Note the size, this thing is BIG and not very light, but it works so I have no problem with it!

Works exactly as advertised! Reduces the noise generated by a 6" fan blowing extra air into the second floor space above the garage. I bought 3 silencers and they all work great. It is possible that a fan was returned because it was not in the same packaging. like the others, and one had a small dent at the junction of the flange with the straight part of the muffler, otherwise the soundproofing was not affected.

This product met all my expectations. I need a silencer to drown out the built in fans in my grow room, I don't want my neighbors to bother me or complain about me, anyway this silencer alone on my exhaust reduced the overall noise in the whole room by about 45-50 percent I would say. I have a rackmount server in my apartment closet and I use a commercial fan to dissipate heat and cool the air. Unfortunately it was very loud. At full speed you'll hit 70-80dB, which I think is loud enough to annoy my neighbors. After connecting the carbon filter and motor this is the best air purifier I have ever used. Removes the most aggressive chemicals ie THINNERS and acrylic paint in about 30 minutes.
