Sharpest, most reliable design in a small body

I think I would buy any Voigtlander lens if I could afford it, this 40mm lens is just amazingly made , very solidly built for life. Sharp as a nail, super fast, wide open, loved it.

Pros
  • Superbly made
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

I love this lens for SLR cameras

I love this lens. Initially I buy 50mm .95. It was fun but unsuitable for my business purposes. I returned it and bought this Voightlander 40 1.2 and am very happy. It's a sharp Sony 55 1.8, no, but what it does, it does very well. Sometimes I prefer it to my 85mm lens for portraits.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

My favorite lens! for camera and photography

This is the lens I carry with my camera most of the time. It's just one of those dependable, versatile lenses that perform well in a variety of situations. It's pretty sharp - at least for me, but I'm not a fan of the clinically sharp fan club - and takes nice photos. The wide aperture range also makes operation a pleasure. As some people might point out, it has a way of capturing an almost cinematic quality that works in its favor.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

A pleasure with excellent results

I love this lens. It's built like a tank, but compact and therefore not too heavy. 40mm is a stunning focal length as it is almost a regular lens but with a little something extra. Aperture 1.2 is a lot of fun to play with when shooting wide open. It's a manual lens, so you get that tactile feel. Images have a vintage lens quality, but it has digital connections so it works hand-in-hand with your Sony camera. One of my favorite E-mount lenses in the entire line. Now he is almost never removed…

Almost Perfect

This lens is almost perfect. Unless you want a low-end (but artsy) look, don't worry about a cheap alternative like the 7artisans 35 f/1.4. You might think this or the Mitikon (Zhongyi) 45mm f/0.95 would be a good low light lens. They are not here! This lens is sharp (in the center, almost to the edges) at f/1.2. Bokeh only exists when you are close to the subject (as you would expect from a wide-angle lens). The CA, magenta and green fringes are the same as what you get in a Sony GM lens…

Phenomenal the best lenses for SLR cameras

Wow, what a great lens. The glass itself is beautiful, producing beautiful images that resemble film but with the sharpness and quality of digital images while being incredibly fast and compact. But the most amazing thing is the direct integration with Sony E-mount cameras. Manual focus works so well with focus and is so sensitive that you can tell by the intensity of the focus lines where things are starting to change. blurred due to the thickness of the sharp lines. It's great to see the peak

  • beautiful thing

I really like it and you probably do too.

I am using a Sigma 50mm ART lens that has been perfectly calibrated to my Nikon as a reference for this lens. As long as I like it Handling is excellent and overall it feels like a very high quality product. It's not as sharp as the Sigma, but it's not as big either: 1.2 vs 1.4. The bokeh is more interesting than Sigma's in my opinion (but maybe a little less "nice?") and the colors look really good. I like 40mm because I'm always torn between 35mm and 50mm, so it helps get rid of some choices…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Such an exceptionally interesting lens to work with

So I was skeptical when I first received this lens. Despite some very good reviews, I wanted to see for myself if manual focus really did deliver the sharp image I was looking for. During a recent business trip, I picked up a lens for a test shoot. It really delivered what I was looking for in low light. For those looking for a lens that can deliver a semi-static composition and superior performance in a compact body, this lens really does it. I shoot with a Sony A7III. Focus peeping works…

Everything I wanted

Only used a few hours but for the reasons I bought this lens (field of view, close focus, bokeh, aperture) it already ticks the box. I can't go into detail about the image quality as I haven't had a chance to really assess it yet. Focus Distance First, the minimum focus distance is perfect for my needs, you should be able to shoot subjects from less than an arm's length. . The bokeh is also very nice, even at f2.8, although I suspect I'll be shooting at f1.4 most of the time. 4 from Sony (I…
