VOLV Precision Chrome Steel Bearing Power Transmission: Reliable and High-Quality Products Review

Quarter scale photo. Got them for my physics students' Newtonian motion department. They are shiny enough that we can use them in optics. Good quality and much cheaper than the same steel balls from scientific catalogues.

These ball bearings appear to be of high quality. They arrived in a hard plastic snap-top container and were lightly coated in oil. Not using them for their intended purpose, I washed them and after a couple of weeks they show no sign of rust. I use them in mechanical art and noise machines.

I haven't tested them to a .001 gram consistency as I would test smaller balls where a thousandth of a gram can make a big difference. They look very nice, come in a fairly sturdy case and are oil coated to resist corrosion. Make sure you clean them THOROUGHLY before using them so you don't run into any lube sensitivities when using them as I assume they are coated in a petroleum based lube that doesn't mix well when you use one synthetic lubricant.
