We love this toy except for the on/off switch. There is no standard switch on the back of the toy. Instead, the power is controlled via a button on the front, which is similar to the buttons on other toys. My daughter turns it on and off regularly whether she wants to or not, and it can accidentally turn on when put in a toy box with other toys. It seems like a pretty simple problem, I'm not sure why they did it that way.

Worst product for kids I have ever bought. The alphabet was in the wrong order: G and F are mixed up, and also when the child presses G, the child says "F" and when the child presses F, they say "G". They may not all be like mine but be careful and check before giving them and I wouldn't recommend sending them to your grandson for example in case he has this horrible bug. The packaging is very complicated, so repackaging for a return is almost impossible.

So this apple is my son's favorite toy. This is our 11th. They never last. The longest is 4 months, the shortest 2 weeks. We bought our current one the first week of April. It's May 14th and I'm broke. It is very frustrating that this product is so poorly made that it cannot be used by a child. Why do we keep buying them? I am a teacher who teaches children with severe disabilities. VTech versions of this toy have been around for years. I bought all versions. When new ones are sold out, I buy used ones. It's so easy for a child to use. I turn on the music system and put my child's hands on the buttons. Every slight movement of the children's hands starts the music playback, the keys light up and go out. It stops when the song ends. When the child moves again, the song begins. When I received this package (it's a Christmas present for my niece) I wanted to make sure this item worked and I asked to receive it with the standard package. When I press the power button, the music plays for 0.3 seconds and the L and M buttons light up and then go out completely. Bought for a non-verbal autistic child when he was 2 years old. He loved him then and still loves him, at the age of 3.5 years. He loves light and noise and above all he has learned to write!
