If you've ever tried traveling with a standard 2014 15-inch MacBook Pro AC adapter, you know it's an absurdly bulky component. It's not lightweight, but it's compact and offers reliable charging without overcharging if you leave it plugged in. 2015 models. To get these state-of-the-art chargers, however, you'll need to upgrade to a MacBook Pro, which can't be opened, printed, or charged without breaking or bursting into flames. This is a great little upgrade to keep the machine running.

I'm not a big fan of aftermarket chargers and the like, but my 15 year old 24 inch Mac monitor that I use with my MB Pro had a power connector that can be connected to the laptop so it was a quick decision. I'm not mad that the brick sits right on the plug as it sags in the socket but doesn't overheat, provides stable performance and the socket in the MB Pro fits perfectly. I am very happy with it.

I've had this charger for a little over a month. When I carefully disconnected it from the base (like I disconnect any other wire in our household) it fell apart. See photo. Unfortunately the returns window is closed on April 11th so I'm unlucky and it ends up in the trash. If you're thinking of buying a cheaper Apple charger, I recommend NOT buying this one.

So this adapter was a headache from the start. It has to be connected to a specific site and we have to do this weird plug/unplug ritual to make it work. Today it just randomly stopped loading when connected to my MBP. The original adapter from Apple never had these problems. I emailed a very dubious hotmail address for warranty support and never received anything. I gave it two stars because it charges the laptop when it works, it's just frustrating.

Do yourself a favor and buy a genuine Apple charger! Every charger we've bought has either melted or the contacts have been burnt to a crisp. this one is no different! I literally had to sand down the charger to clean the burnt metal. Also, the contacts that supply power will bind or the spring will melt so they can't even reach the contacts on the MacBook Pro. Learn from my mistakes! I spent as much, if not more, on cheap, poorly made chargers like this that I had to keep replacing than buying

This charger was just what I needed. Somehow I went through four chargers for the same MacBook. (One jumped, one caught fire, one died, and one was eaten by a puppy!) This charger is useful, but not for too long. It stores everything contained in a smaller place. And especially ideal if you use it on a table. If your OEM charger has been giving you trouble, this is the way to go.

I like this charger much more than the original Macbook Magsafe. It's compact and the cable seems to be of much better quality than Apple's original. It's getting a little warm, but that's okay. The connector is MUCH better than the original Magsafe. It has nice beveled edges and a very strong yet smooth magnetic mount. I've tried several aftermarket chargers and this is by far my favorite.

UPDATE ON MY UPDATE: Everything is still great with this charger. No overheating. Perfection. So glad I found it! UPDATE: I've been using this charger for a few months now and everything is still good. Doesn't overheat, doesn't catch fire, it's great and I won't hesitate to buy it again! Nevertheless 5 stars! This is the second "replacement" charger I've bought in my MacBook Pro's life - the first was eaten by a kitten, the second by a puppy. You would think I would learn, but no. In any case…
