Almost perfect for exhaust and emissions

The O2 sensor screw was a little bent when I got it but I was able to bend it to fit. Perfect fit for 2001 Tacoma 5ZVFE. Be sure to visit the Walker website and search for your vehicle's exhaust system to find the correct gaskets.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some small things

Ok had to modify TRD

This is what is advertised the quality is ok it is not OEM. Be careful if you have TRD connectors you will need to weld the existing front flange from your old cat to the new one, I cut it just behind the sensor bracket. To my knowledge nobody makes screws for trd headers. Look at the manifold flanges, they are stamped TRD.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Band

Worked on my California Tacoma!

I can't believe this will actually fit and work on my 2001 California Toyota Tacoma 4wd Twin Cab TRD V6 5VZ FE engine. Fits perfectly, replacement took about 20 minutes Three top front bolts, two rear bolts and two small top nuts on the front sensor. Spray some Blaster Rust or WD 15 minutes before removing the nuts and bolts, or you may need to unscrew the bolt from the upper cat/manifold joint immediately. My check engine light has been off for over 2000km. This cat is hard to find in…

Flange alignment problem

Should be a front boiler to fit my 2001 Tacoma. I installed this with a straight fit Walker back cat. When first installed, the flanges between the front and rear spools were misaligned. A "squeezable" gasket is used between the two flanges, so I figured that might compensate for the misalignment. After tightening everything up and starting the engine, I had a small leak at the top of the two flanges. I considered returning the front coil or cutting the tube and re-welding it (I really didn't…

Great option to replace CA CARB compatible cats.

After heavy smog and troubleshooting - when I found my catalytic converters were bad - I decided the only option was to fit OEM units costing over $1,500. Keep in mind that you can't just put an old catalytic converter in CA. This must be either an OEM or an approved converter based on an Executive Order from the Air Resources Board. This limits cheap direct bolt-on options. I did a little research and found a CA Air Resources Board website that lists CA compliant catalytic converters for…
