I really like this thing in my entryway! However, I definitely thought it was real wood so I was a bit disappointed but my husband said it has plastic caps on the bottom to make it stronger. I really like how this thing works, but I can say that it won't be long now. When assembled, it sways slightly from side to side when shaken. Also, the stoppers holding it to the rail are too short on one side, so it'll slide off the rail if you're not careful. Also, the directions are a bit messed up. One section shows the horizontal shelves in place, but you don't really need to install them for about three more steps. So in summary I like how it looks, it's very functional but you'll need to
