Follow the advice of others.

If you want to save money, don't. You will spend more time going to the UPS store to return them and order real antennas. Standard rubber ducks performed better than these. Especially when dealing with strong signals like NOAA WX channels. The price may seem good but you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • I'll write back later

The Stock Short Rubber Duckies that came with HT work much better

I finally got around to testing these rubber duckies tonight and found that with the standard short repeater that came with mine became more FM repeater click and can receive radio. I can't get into any of the same FM repeaters with these much longer antennas. For now my experience is to save money and stick with the original short duck antenna.

  • Nice packaging

  • Safety

Decent antennas for the price but REALLY long

They match up pretty well after testing with an Anritsu 331D but the radio needs at least some metal to work well. At 17.7 feet REALLY long - it's not a "portable" antenna, but it works very well for desktop work with HT or my tiny SA for interference detection. They have a big zero at the top so it will work for a low tech DF antenna.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Walkie Talkie NA-320A tri-band antenna: Low SWR on all three bands

This review is for the Walkie Talkie NA-320A tri-band antenna: I got the SWR on all three bands with a recently purchased VNA tested. He was low on all three bands. I was able to pick up a repeater 2m away that is about 15 miles away from me and I can't hit with the supplied Baofeng tri-band HT antenna. The antenna is suitable for Baofeng HT without using the included rubber gasket. The antenna is long, so the HT is a bit unstable when placed on a table. I'm glad the antenna works as switching…

  • Satisfied so far

Good product but not for cheaper radios like UV-5R

Good product but doesn't work properly or at all with radios that don't have a filter like UV-5R. The problem is that antennas pick up a lot more unwanted signals. This will interfere with your target's signal. If you're in a sparsely populated area, this might work for you. But in a big city like I live, that won't work. But that's not a problem with the antenna. However, the person posting the ad must be aware of which radio stations will and will not work with this product. The bottom line…

Good on 220 and 440 but SWR 4.5:1 on 2m.

This is the only tri-band antenna that actually operates at 220MHz. All others were dual-band antennas with SWR > 50:1 at 220 MHz. This antenna has very good matching at 220 MHz (1.32:1) and at 440 MHz (approx. 2:1). It resonates on 3 bands, but unfortunately the SWR on 2m is 4.5:1. The lowest SWR on VHF was 2.35:1 at 116MHz. The base is quite wide and may not fully engage your radio. I tried it on the Baofeng UV5R and it barely turned on, but on the Pofung and Tidradio radios the antenna…
