Description of Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 Double Stick Fusible Web - 1/2x20 Yds by Warm Company

Same great product as Steam-A-Seam, only in a lighter weight. Tape sizes are perfect for seams, hems and lightweight appliqué. Bonds permanently when ironed. Virtually disappears into lace. Machine wash & dry or dry clean without fabric softeners. Made in the USA

Simplified sewing process

How did I live without this?! I used this to make a couple of roman shades and was able to test out the fit before permanently attaching the hem. I chose "Lightweight" because I've heard it's less bulky than regular ones and I'm very happy with the end product. It was very sticky and very easy to work with.

Pros
  • Almost merges with lace
Cons
  • Dear

Ideal for stabilizing edges and seams on difficult fabrics!

Although you CAN use it alone for edging, it's INVALUABLE in helping to stabilize seams and hems in difficult fabrics. I love knits the most, they help stabilize the hem and hold the seam in place so the stitching looks very sturdy and professional. I use 1/2″ and 1/4″, lay the seam on, iron and then sew the hem – either singed or double needle. You can do the same with thin fabrics like silk or satin, since they tend to move and stretch as you sew. :-)

Pros
  • Sticks permanently when ironed
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Just Hem Curtains

I used the Steam-A-Seam 2 double rod to hem some curtains in the living room as I don't have the patience to sew. This took maybe 20 minutes including pinning where I wanted to hem and ironing the edge. You don't have to sit with the iron over the tape forever, it sticks pretty quickly. All I had to use was a long piece along the top of the hem and a short piece at each end where I folded the fabric. I was nervous that there might be creases where the tape is as it's a lightweight fabric, but…
