Finer than they look or feel

These look and feel like great wine glasses. They are a good weight and appear to be more durable than other thinner glasses. But it turns out they're just as fragile as thinner and lighter glasses. I hit one of them with another glass while washing, and the cup cracked and got two big cracks. So be careful, that's $65 down the drain if you don't handle it with kid gloves.

Pros
  • Dine and entertain
Cons
  • Reliability

Ideal as a gift

We gave it as a wedding gift. Recipients will love, love, LOVE the height and weight of these gorgeous mugs. In addition, the presentation packaging perfectly rounds off the "Waterford experience". However, having owned Waterford crystal for many years, I find that the crystal "cuts" are not as sharp as the Waterford glasses I have owned. Don't assume they were actually made in Ireland, although they are definitely "Waterford". I would give again in a heartbeat.

Pros
  • Home and kitchen
Cons
  • Fits

I believe it's a second factory

I have a lot of Waterford so I decided to add the glasses to my "collection". Waterfords are expensive but (usually) of very high quality. I ordered two sets (four jars) and two of the four had issues (one had an obvious air bubble in the jar and the other had a 2 inch rough spot on the rim of the jar). All four have uneven bottoms that wobble slightly on a smooth surface (by comparison, my cheap $10 wine glasses are rock solid). what to expect from Waterford. Maybe they are second-hand…

Pros
  • Wine glasses
