had an old light fixture, didn't want to upgrade to lower brightness upgraded LED. There have been some 17W, 1600 lumen, 5000K LED bulbs that last longer than the old 60W bulbs. These new glass coated bulbs go down about 1.5 inches which allows for more light and can hold brighter and longer LED bulbs which are great for what I need.

Excellent replacement for a commonly used similar product that uses a plastic peripheral ring rather than a metal which inevitably breaks at the junction between the surrounding plastic ring and the spring retainers. This clip is in the mount for the glass (and should allow you to move the ring away from the ceiling and offer to swap out the bulb). Easy to assemble, good. But this cover soaks up so much light I couldn't believe it. I try to get as close as possible to the light of the Australian grasslands. I have 22w LED bulbs which is equivalent to a 200w incandescent bulb. And the light was too harsh as LED tends to be harsh. I wanted to soften the light but not dim it too much. The bird room went from extremely bright to something like a general glow from my oven. And the light in the ceiling vessel is in the lowest position. Look for

I bought this to replace a plastic block. I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only the metal edge but also the glass back. Hooray, no more crumbling plastic. The block has a weak point, the springs that hold it to the mount. The spring gauge is smaller than my original and doesn't have a bent end to make it easier to set up. There is a slight bend at the end of each leaf spring, but it's not at all enough. Eventually one of my springs broke off the block while installing it. Rather than…
