My daughter's poncho arrived today, just in time to walk home from school in a heavy downpour. She is 9 years old, about 54 cm tall and weighs about 60 pounds. Size XL is perfect for your backpack. I bought this rain poncho for my 7 year old son for a camp that is primarily outdoors. It is very light and has a beautiful pattern. Comes with a drawstring pouch for storage when not in use. My son is not the typical height for a 7 year old. He usually wears XXL for kids and S for men so I bought him an XXL poncho and it fits him perfectly. He hasn't worn it in the rain yet, but I'll let you know as soon as he does.

I have one though Test done with water using a cup and it appears to be waterproof Nice material that doesn't get too hot - doesn't feel like plastic Multiple buttons under the chin to keep the neck water out I'll get a second one for mine Bought another son.I would have liked a large sewn on pocket so we didn't have to keep up with a storage bag.
