Glad I decided to pay a little more for a better docking station. Worked immediately with all things connected. I've had a cheaper dock with poor connectivity, especially with a wireless mouse and keyboard. There are no problems with that! Connecting to a computer comes with a USB-c adapter if you don't have a USB-a port (like me). I didn't get it, but I need it. This makes it stick out a bit from the computer, but I don't care as long as everything works.

The docking station works as advertised, except it doesn't include the ability to power the laptop while in use. You have to keep the powered laptop separately, which is very inconvenient when you want to disconnect the laptop from the adapter. My previous dock included a laptop power connector so I could keep the power cord disconnected and ready to travel at all times. It's partly my fault for not listing the power supply when looking for a replacement dock.

I have 2 identical monitors with the HDMI cables that came with the monitors. one plugs into the computer's HDMI port, and the other plugs into the Wavlink docking station's HDMI port. My night light turns on from dusk to dawn. It works fine on the monitor in the computer's HDMI port, but the monitor in the dock's HDMI port works all day. Excellent picture quality, good speed, pretty easy to set up if you know a little bit about hooking up computers. My only criticism is that I had to search the website a bit to find the right driver to download, but once I downloaded it everything worked great. My main goal is to set up more than 3 monitors for my laptop and it works. You can have multiple modes - extend, mirror and even mix with them (extend to one, mirror two, etc.). I know it uses a Displaylink chipset that will be compatible with both Windows and Linux and that's also one of the main reasons I bought this product . I have both Windows and Linux systems, at work and at home, the constant unplugging and plugging of all cables is really annoying, I'm glad this product works on both platforms.
