My main goal is to set up more than 3 monitors for my laptop and it works. You can have multiple modes - extend, mirror and even mix with them (extend to one, mirror two, etc.). In expansion mode you have up to 3 different workspaces. This is perfect for spreadsheets, coding, or graphic design. If your laptop comes with an extra HDMI port like mine, I can have up to 4 standalone monitors (this is confirmed by my setup). This product does what it's supposed to. Edit: To install the driver, the manual in the box isn't clear at all, it's hard to follow the instructions. You need to search by model number and find the latest software to download. If something is missing, it means it is running in vertical mode. I saw that they have a boner in the Asian version. Too bad they don't ship it to the US.
