These are very good drives by any measure and incredible discounts compared to a few years ago. If your needs are less than the highest or your budget is tight, Western Digital "Blue" drives are the right choice. I am sure you will be happy with it.

This is an upgrade of an old 300 GB hard drive. I cloned my existing HD and then installed it in its place. I needed to enlarge the new HD partition from the clone's original size to its maximum size. It was quick and easy with the Windows 10 tools. If you don't know how, just look on YouTube.

Brought this drive in July 2019 but it died on 9th October 19 and lost all data. I've used the Windows startup disk to fix the problem but to no avail. I called WD, joking, no support. Of course they will replace the drive, but that's about it. I would not buy this drive and trust its performance.

So I currently have an MBP mid 2012 (MacBook Pro) and need an SSD + more memory. Given how expensive a 1TB SSD is, I can't get another one right now (yes, I have one in my HP. Love it.). Once installed, the unit works fine. I did not find the installation process easy. However, this extended the life of the old laptop.
