Only downside is that that the silicone absorbs odors from the freezer and the contents. Freeze food and then remove the cubes. Do not store food in a container. Wash in warm, soapy water and place about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in each slot. I love making soups, stews and casseroles and freezing leftovers for lunch or a quick dinner.

I should have spent more money and bought better. The outer shell broke on first use. Everything seemed fine until it froze and then quickly broke when I tried to force the item to free it. It is also very difficult to get groceries out of the compartment. I had to soak it in hot water for a few minutes before the food separated.

I looked at several options and settled on this one based on the clip on the lid. It was a little tricky getting the stock cubes out, but will probably get easier with practice. I spilled some warm water on the floor. Made me cook soup 2 days in a row! Very happy to have variety in the freezer for lunch or a pre-dinner cuppa. Thought of buying one of the 2 packs I saw but they were quite expensive and 4 is plenty of room - makes a pot of soup with a few fresh servings and 4 to freeze for later.
