I needed a bigger and heavier soldering iron to solder PL-259 coax connectors without having to heat the connector for so long. I found this Weller and bought it based on my past experience and reputation. It's a big, heavy iron and once I had it I soldered the connections. I should have noticed that the length in the description of this thing is HUGE! I figured I could just get a new tip and solder the smaller leads. NO! my mistake, this thing is amazing, even though i soldered a whole camaro wire to it. This thing heats the wire a lot quicker than my old one.
