Groats too big for Havana puppies

My 16 week old Havana puppy has been with Royal Canin Small Puppy since the breeder started him. I was shocked to read that the main protein ingredient is poultry by-products, which are all the parts nobody wants (legs, beak, etc.) and I wanted to switch it to something higher rated that had real meat in it. I thought he had a serious form of hookworm and in a panic took him to the vet because his stool was so messed up. I never thought it was the food because technically it

My puppy got sick from the food

I slowly introduced my Havapoo to this food to wean him off the breeder's food and Wellness came highly recommended. As I increased the amount, I noticed some signs of distress as her stools became thin. I didn't give that much importance as I figured it might just be her body getting used to the food. The minute I completely switched, she started throwing up at least once a day for a week. She received a range of vaccinations during this time, including rabies, in addition to some heartworm…
