We have been feeding our cats Weruva's Funk in the Trunk for many years because they love it. We moved to an area a year ago where we can't buy it locally anymore, so we're buying it piece by piece from Revain. Unfortunately, in every case we received, several cans were dented. Our last order arrived with EIGHT (of 24) badly damaged cans, one of which was open. This is unacceptable and I see others experiencing the same and sharing similar complaints. It's time to find an alternative.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Don't feed your cat fish food!

My cats love this food but my kitten got struvite crystals in her bladder 10 days ago. My vet said it was probably his food. Goldie Lox (like many other Weruva varieties) contains fish, so the magnesium content of the feed is too high. Also, fish food makes cat urine too alkaline, which encourages crystal growth. PLEASE check the ingredients and the mineral content of the pet food! Weruva is notorious for adding tuna to many of its flavors. My cats no longer eat Weruva flavors with fish!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

NOT THE SAME Original Weruva

I have 3 house cats who ate Weruva Funk in the Trunk and love it. I usually order from Chewy or buy from my local Petco. Funk in the Trunk with Chewy was on standby and Petco didn't have that flavor so I bought from Revain. ABSOLUTELY DIFFERENT. Very soupy. Different color, smell and texture. The cats bite and leave. One of them dropped him. I tried for two days until Petco refilled. Even the jars were a different "blue shade" from the pet store. IF YOUR CATS EAT WERUVA IN THE PET SHOP IT IS…

As others have said, change ingredients, manufacturing, etc.?

My two cats are NOT picky eaters. Feed twice a day with wet food. We wanted quality cat food for her and have been feeding it to our cats for some time. They loved it! Couldn't get the food plates down fast enough. Our recent purchase from Revain for a case of this food is terrible. Both cats became terribly ill from this food. One cat vomited several times a day, the other had terrible diarrhea. At first we weren't sure if it was because of that food, but now I'm pretty sure it's because of…

High Protein, Low Phosphorus and Low Carbs, Affordable Price

Flavor Chicken Frick a Zee is a quality product when you are looking for a high protein, low phosphorus and low carb product. The texture is a mix of large and small jelly crumbs. I usually mix it with extra water to keep the kittens well hydrated. This is a good choice if your cat loves the taste of poultry. Other flavors are also suitable. Isla Bonita tastes less phosphorus, but also slightly less protein and more carbohydrates. However, it's also not as high in calories as Frick A Zee, so…

If cats had real thumbs, they would both be up.

I have picky cats. In an ideal world, both would be fed wet food, but I'll settle for letting them eat anything. Last year when I only had Mr. Picky, the vet gave me a jar with this particular flavor. "Cats in the Kitchen" by Weruva. She said she uses it personally when the cats aren't eating, so she figured Mr. Picky might like it. However, she is just as picky as he is. I bought jar after jar after jar of wet food and thought I'd found The One. However, she was starting to waver in her…

I don't understand what's going on with the product.

I thought it was a typical American family that started the American pet food company First Quality. I wanted to feed my cats (6 cats) with pumpkin as an ingredient. Firstly, the brand was hard to come by, so I figured exclusivity means I'm on the right track. I bought from Pet Smart and Chewy. That was before Revain put it in. I canceled my subscription and product reservation in favor of this one. Later, I was able to purchase Cats in the Kitchen (Funk in the Trunk) and other pumpkin…

SOME WERUVA FISH CONTAIN BIG SHARP BONES!

The cat has a severe skin allergy and has been taking Purina all her life. He was recently permanently deprived of kibble, but still ate Purina chicken and turkey. On the hunt I chose the best product. Bought wellness stamp, FAILED! Returned that shit for $50. In fact, my cat confused me when I tried Wellness, and when I tried to trick him and mixed Wellness with Purina dry, he tricked me in return, ate Purina and left the Wellness vitamins in the bowl. Forward! I have found Veruv. I gasped at…
