Broke in less than 60 days

Item purchased on 08/19/2018. 01.10. Not warm. Zero Rating This product is made in China. The last 2 popcorn machines in West Bend had the same problem with the heating elements. Buyer Warning!

worst popcorn suitable for vans

I've bought at least 6 different brands of popcorn kernels, I've used every method I can think of to make popcorn and the results are exactly the same; stale taste, bad taste and zero fun with this machine. I just threw away the car and the last popcorn.

Pros
  • ideal for small households

Good popcorn

This is a very light popcorn that is very different from the Cuisinart popcorn I have had before. It starts up quickly though and does a good job. You can dip the popper (like I could at Cuisinart) so cleaning isn't that easy. In general I am satisfied with the popper.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Good but not great

Non-stick coating came off all over the popcorn

We were cooking the popcorn for the third time after a few uses and thought we burned it when we poured it out when we saw black spots all over the popcorn. then it turned out that the black stuff was actually a non-stick coating! so upset and disappointed. Yes. We followed the instructions.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Space-saving and fast

Hot popcorn that tastes like movie popcorn. Easy to use and clean. Storage is easy. The only downside is that when popped, moisture builds up and the popcorn that touches the sides of the lid gets a bit wet. They seem to dry up after you pour them into another dry container. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this product.

  • Almost never

that replaced my old madness or I think I'll try to replace it! The unit will heat up and start popping corn, but eventually the heating element will slow down and the frantic stirring will stop popping corn, leaving lots of undercooked corn and "old maids". I bought several packets of corn and kept getting poor results until I went back to cooking the corn the old fashioned way in an 8 quart pot. There's never been anything wrong with corn!

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

A few minor technical changes needed

This is the third Stir Crazy corn machine I have. I was very happy with all of them and wore the first two. It has a few quirks that need fixing. First, when it ruptures, hot oil occasionally squirts out from under the bottom edge of the lid. Not much, just enough to be annoying. And second, there are vent holes in the top to allow steam to escape so the popcorn doesn't get soggy. All is well and fine except the holes are too big which can sometimes result in a hot core flying out. This canโ€ฆ

So far so good - Small appliances

So far so good. I bought large bags of microwave popcorn thinking I could make them in a toaster but to no avail. Enter this machine I hesitated for a moment as I don't have space in the kitchen but I'm counting on forty bucks you can't go wrong with even if it only lasts a few months. The popper doesn't take up too much space and is a lot smaller than a microwave, that's for sure. Seeing popcorn in front of you is a delight and takes no more than 5 minutes. Do you want burns with this oil?

I don't know how it was approved for safety because it is a dangerous product. I got blisters and my kids and teenage adults got burns too. We followed their instructions to the letter. However, you have to hand in a car that has been exposed to extremely high temperatures. Then, even if you leave it for a while, you have to pick it up and turn it back over, releasing the scalding hot steam (which, if you wince, might cause you to touch the still-hot bottom) and put it back. Obviously someโ€ฆ
