This tool is great for removing thick pencil lines prior to watercolor painting. My shop manager suggested this; I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. I used to use a kneaded eraser but this Westcott dry cleaning mat is bigger and much faster and more efficient.

I had high hopes for this product when I read about artists using it, but was very disappointed. This left more of a mess on my paper than the eraser bits I was trying to remove. It leaves LOTS of little chunks of its own that were harder to brush off than crumbs to remove. I'm sticking with my old eraser which is much, much less messy. I would return it if it wasn't more trouble than it's worth.
