Simple Satisfaction

The product has met my needs perfectly. Bend it into the shape you want, duplicate the curve and voila, you're done. No complicated mechanics to break, no digital electronics to worry about, just pure simplicity. How can such a simple product get less than 5 stars? Good job folks.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Almost OK

This was purchased to help shape the curve of the crotch as illustrated by Joy Bernhardt in her video 'Joyful Expressions shown. This "curved curve" holds its shape better than the one it uses and I'm happy with the results. The 30-inch length is a bit longer, but that doesn't matter. I adjusted it 4 times, and each time it was the same "aquarium" shape necessary to change the pants. Aside from being used for sewing, I'm sure I'll find it useful for a variety of homeowner projects.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons
  • Available in White Only

Not that flexible is good for crafting

Tried to use it to draw curves but it was very stiff. and even when I managed to bend it into the desired shape, it didn't stay, I found an old one at a flea market - same blue color and length - but the difference in flexibility while maintaining the shape was amazing. What they use in the new product just doesn't work. I gave it three stars because it probably needs to be used a thousand times to get the stability and flexibility I got at the flea market.

Holds shape when pattern is made

This is the model you need for sewing and pattern making as it holds its shape. I draw my own pants and jeans patterns and use this flexible curved ruler to curve the crotch - really the only way to transfer it from body to paper! This 30 inch ruler is a bit short; If I were to buy now I might go for a slightly longer version (if available) just to cover all the high front and rear lift possibilities. Otherwise it is a perfect product.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

great for hobby drawing

this is exactly what i was hoping for, its only purpose is to help draw lines. even the 24" has excellent flex. 12" seams have more flex for radii less than 1" although both advertise a 1" radius. I don't use an ink needle which can easily get wet to the brim, but when you use this curved ruler it has an inky edge.My only opinion is that the sellers of these products should add more photos and descriptions than what is shown on the back of the box.

Pros
  • few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

I use this tool to create patterns for sewing pants.

I use this tool to create patterns for sewing pants. It is an ideal tool for accurately measuring the length and shape of the crotch. Having assumed the desired shape, he holds his position. I can then transfer the shape to my patterns for an exact fit. Saves time customizing models. I've also used this for curved artwork. The only downside is that the long lead rod inside the tool can break if you repeatedly bend it into a tight shape. After breaking, you will have a dimple on a smooth curved…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
