Westcott Handle Scissors Colors 14596 Review

For the most part these are excellent scissors, just what my son needs for school. However, I agree with other reviewers who say it's a bit difficult to use for a preschooler. The handle is comfortable to hold, but the blades require a little more strength than a small child should, and they're likely to tire quickly after cutting a lot. However, I think they will work and I will just replace them. if he gets into trouble as soon as he goes to school.

This is actually the second pair of scissors I have bought for my six year old this year. The first couple injured their hands after a few minutes of cutting (it cuts a lot of thick paper!). Westcott scissors are very comfortable for him and the first time he used them he turned to me and smiled and said "Thank you they are cool." High quality and perfect color for boys or girls. They are sharp enough to remain safe for small children and still be usable.

My 3 year old loves to cut paper and anything thin enough. They're perfect for developing those little hand muscles at this age (and my kids' hands are actually small for their age - they'll still wear gloves for 1-2 years). We lucked out and got the blue/green pair we were counting on (I emailed the seller after we placed the order - maybe that helped - I have no idea). The handle is a nice non-slip, durable yet soft rubber grip. The blades are sharp and quite long. And my ambidextrous toddler
