Bought these for a friend who was replacing an old globe in an area with high ceilings. And replace it with an identical one that has been sitting in the kitchen for 40 years. Highly recommended.

My house was built in 1918 and I wanted the vintage decor/appliances to match. Our ceiling fan is also the same lily/tulip shade so I figured it would go well in our bedroom. I added a medallion. It's beautiful, bright and unique. Holds up well.

I painted the base of this lamp with oil bronze spray paint to match the vintage headboard. Shades are replaced with thick matte (Home Depot), soft white medium-base Flame Tip lamps, and a Westinghouse 77027 10 "Victorian" medallion (painted to match the bedroom ceiling) is added. Looks great and works. .

It's simple, cheap and bright enough with 100W LED bulbs. God, they've grown small! The diameter of the part that is attached to the ceiling is much smaller than others in the house. But it works and looks very nice. When replacing a light fixture with a larger ceiling mount, you may need to add a ceiling rosette or medallion.

I just asked a qualified electrician to install two of these lights in my modest home to replace recessed glass globe ceiling lights that retain heat from molded CFL bulbs. The electrician said these Westinghouse lights were easy to install and had greatly increased the brightness in both of my bedrooms where the only other light sources are bedside lamps. The light is fine but after the wiring was done I unpacked the shades and noticed that one of them had a long J-shaped tear from top to bottom . Everything was well packed, the box and the foam were not damaged. Apparently the packaging was damaged. I have tried calling Westinghouse numbers but they are all listed as workarounds. I emailed Westinghouse asking for shading and they responded quickly with a nice email saying they would apologize and send a replacement. Too early to do this, but…

My "older" years are overtaking me and it has become extremely difficult for me to change the bulbs included in the lamp. Not only are these lights decorative (I like them MUCH better than the old enclosed lights), but more importantly to me, they allow me to change bulbs without having to remove the lamp cover before turning on the bulb can reach.
