Much better now!

The ceiling fan in my room is antique bronze, but the mountings on it were brass and so outdated and ugly that I finally couldn't stand it anymore. This fits perfectly and is a bit more classic. It took me a few minutes to figure out which direction the wires went and if an adapter plate was needed, but then everything connected fairly smoothly.

Central attachment. Not for 3/4 holes

This bracket mounts directly to the existing center hole in the "light removal cover" on the ceiling fan. THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR THREE HOLES MOUNTING. If your fan already has a lamp attached with three or four screws, this will not work for you without using the original light removal cover that came with your fan. If your existing fan has a small cap (3/8?) cut in the middle of the light removal cap you can use that to connect this light. It uses a short threaded pipe to connect and wire to…

Brushed brass is hard to find

We bought a house with 12 ceiling fans! Most of them are brushed brass, which we'll live with for now. Only one was missing a lighting kit and they are hard to find in this configuration. I laughed but gave 5 stars for easy installation. Installation was supposed to be very easy, but we ended up having to remove the entire fan because the wiring for the lighting kit had no power. This wasn't the fault of the lighting kit, but I recommend everyone to add lights instead of replacing them and…

NOT compatible with Westinghouse own fans!

Bought a Westinghouse 7871400 Contrempra fan. As usual, Westinghouse shoves a candelabra down your throat. Okay ok I'm paying for a lighting kit that supports A15/A19 bulbs. But no. The Westinghouse 3 LED Kit is 100% NOT compatible with the Westinghouse fan. Of course without warning. - Screw on the fan housing. Even if you get over it, the lighting kit is definitely NOT the thing for the ceiling fan housing. I hate you.

Yes, works with most 3-bolt light mounts

The only major downside I've seen in other reviews is whether it works with existing fans. Many fans have a three screw mounting system that is not directly compatible but usually still works. The trick, on most of these fans, is that you loosen three screws, remove the cover, and then pry the blank out of the center of the cover. This light screws into a hole in the center of the lid. Yes, it would be better if he replaced the bezel and used the same 3-screw mount, but that's a minor issue…
