Excellent stones. Bought a 1k orange gem and now a 5k pink gem. Bought because I have a BearMoo combination stone that needs frequent lapping while these stones require much less maintenance. Shapton 1k leaves the edge almost as well as BearMoo 4k. 5k Shapton is fantastic. The manufacturer's specs recommend rubbing 2 stones together to even them out when the surface is no longer smooth.
