The most profitable stones if you are serious about sharpening.

I sharpen knives as a side job and I use these Kuromaku stones to sharpen all but the very expensive or difficult to sharpen knives. These are not the best stones you can buy but for the price they are great. They cut metal almost as well as the best of the best, but they just feel rough or awkward. Not smooth at all. • Great for a small home

  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

I've used both draw sharpeners and the very good Edge Pro Apex system and had trouble getting a good, safe edge with either. It was "good enough" for most kitchen tasks, but never as sharp as I'd like it to be for slicing really easily, especially thin-skinned veggies and the like. I always had to saw through a thin piece of tomato or onion. So I finally…
