We purchased the Whirlpool part because it fits the dishwasher we are installing (new install). It was about double the price of an alternative part from the US. I have no problem paying a few bucks more for OEM equipment that isn't made abroad.

Why does Whirlpool use a dishwasher drain hose with unique ends? Home Depot "universal" hoses won't work, and hardware stores don't stock them. Well, Revane did it and handed it over to me quickly. Exactly what I needed at a reasonable price. There is little more to say about the drain hose of the dishwasher.

My kitchen makeover My new dishwasher was a bit far from my sink! I searched and searched until I finally found this extension. It was easy to connect to my existing hose and I had plenty of options for hooking up a garbage disposal. Only problem is I didn't need that much but I'll find a way to hang it under the sink and keep it out of the way.

I have upgraded my kitchen sink and waste disposal. The old dishwasher drain hose no longer had a 5/8 fitting, so it didn't fit into the garbage chute inlet. The generic hose in the big store had glued ends and didn't have the same long plastic end. So I ordered this hose and it fit perfectly. Ride light and leak free. Couldn't ask for more.

It has a WARNING label from California Law 65 stating the materials from which it is made can cause cancer and birth defects. It is not suitable for use with a portable washing machine, only for use with a dishwasher in a place you will rarely touch. You should put it in the description so people don't waste their time. Got this as a spare for my Kenmore Elite dishwasher and it does the job perfectly. Fits the drain hose and air gap as expected and installation was easy. If you wish to replace the drain hose, please note that this is an _extension_ and not the entire drain hose.
