❤️ Wilton 6-Cavity Mini Silicone Heart Mold for Heart Shaped Cookies and Candy Review

I used this mold once and the color of my soap came off. I have never seen a silicone mold. The soap melted and flowed so it wasn't even that hot. Very disappointed as I have bought a Wilton in the past and not found this, obviously the quality has to be that cheap for this to happen.

A white film keeps coming off the silicone. I've used it about four times. I've washed it in the dishwasher and by hand and both times it left a white residue that keeps coming off. I'm afraid to cook anything in it because I don't understand what it is. I can run my fingers over the silicone and the white coating keeps peeling off. rough!

So far I've only used this pan to melt crayons for a Valentine's Day project, but I really liked it. I was able to easily remove the heart-shaped crayons from the silicone mold, although the wax took some time to separate. (Tip: Soak in boiling water, then spray 409 or other cleaner on it and rub with the green side of the dish sponge. Then soak in water again and finally put it in the dishwasher. Then immediately wipe out the cooking pot of water to the wax didn't stick to it. )

I first purchased this item about 15 years ago to make heart shaped crayons for Valentine's Day at my son's daycare. Wanted a few more muffins and muffin tins and bought these again so they can be stacked together for less storage. The original pan is thicker and stronger than new ones which are thin in comparison. Love it. I bake a flourless chocolate cake in it, which can be tender and difficult to separate in regular cake pans, but the silicone allows it to slide out and bakes perfectly, leaving my cake very moist. Perfect for a Valentine's Day cake (which is what my Lovers Cakes were meant for) or just when you want to add some love to your baked goods. Make sure you place the silicone mold on the baking sheet before filling it with batter as it is very flexible and if you try to lift it after filling

This little mold was perfect for what I wanted to use it for. I ordered this to be able to melt beads for the sun catcher with my granddaughter. The only caveat I want to make is to make sure you know what size you are ordering. This option is suitable for heart-shaped cupcakes. I wouldn't see that as a disadvantage!
