Great Fans: Computers and Accessories

Ordered these to use as switch box ventilation fans for my Christmas lightbox. They attach perfectly to the back of Bud eyebrows. Very low noise level, especially for small fans with fairly high speeds. They move more than enough air to keep my expensive light controls from overheating. Great buy.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • No Paint Required

Absolutely QUIET on Raspberry Pi 4!

I saw a YouTube video recommending them for Raspberry Pi 4 even though they are 12V and the Pi should have a 5V fan. The old 5V fan was like an airplane with the window open. It's so quiet here that I can hear my neighbors' thoughts. The caveat is that this fan is much larger than a 5V fan and won't fit in most Pi cases. As you can see from my photo I tether it to my Pi. It looks like hell but sounds like heaven. It all goes in an arcade cabinet so I don't care what it looks like. Highly…

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons

Excellent fan Fan and cooling

So far so good. I used one of these fans as a replacement for my Coleman PowerChill 12v cooler. Continuous use 24/5-7 in the salon "fridge" at 34-40 degrees without any problems. Very humid environment. I wish it moved more air but it gets the job done.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Low price, questionable quality.

Bought for my Ender 3 printer. The first one broke after a few hours. The second fan has been running sporadically for a few weeks and shows no problems. So far I haven't had to test the other two. Update: The second fan started vibrating and making loud noises after about 30 hours of printing. Now switch to fan #3.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great for Monoprice Mini Delta

This reduces the noise from "jet planes taking off" to "regular PCs" on the Monoprice Mini Delta. Mine had me swapping the wires, but it took less time. than in a minute. After that it was connected and working. Much, much quieter than series. I don't know if there is a difference in CFM but I bet as long as there is some sort of cooling on the motherboard you will be fine.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Minor issues

Incubator fan suitable for fans and cooling

Nice little fans. I use them with 5v cell phone chargers and in styrofoam incubators. Just hang it on the corner hole in the corner with a piece of wire or rope. Point it at the heating element. The little Giant 9300 comes with a fan, but it's not enough to keep it from overheating. But the fan fixes that and turns her into a regular incubator, not a Brincey by any means, but fine.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Damaged

Chimney Fans

I am using 12 of these in the fan assembly to supplement my chimney fan. Computer fans are designed to move hot air, so why not. They're working great so far. I suspect they double the flow of warm air from the chimney when the regular fan is running. When the fan is off, they throw out a hair more than the fan itself. The fan also supplies combustion air to the fire. I can turn it off for a slower burn by using these fans just to heat the house while they pull the air out instead of pushing it

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Repair
