Description of High-Quality Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Color Paint - Twin Pack of 200ml Tubes, Titanium White

Winton Oil Colour offers quality and affordability by using moderately priced pigments, rather than reducing the pigment load and compromising colour performance. A high level of pigmentation provides good covering power and tinting strength. The Winton range has a more uniform consistency than Artists' Oil Colour and is slightly stiffer. It offers excellent retention of brush and palette knife strokes. Ideal for student and amateur artists or more accomplished painters requiring large volumes of color within moderate cost limits.

Essential for oil painting.

High quality ink with transparent properties. Because I do portraits, I always have this color in stock.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • All Fine

Colored raw sienna

Not raw sienna marked cadmium yellow but with yellow okra. the color you will receive. However, I paint a lot and would still go with Windsor Zinc White (not as diluted, not as easy to ruin the color and the price is right). Buyers, painters and beginners. consult!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not as thick as other varieties

Extremely disappointed with the paints

The oil paint came in a large box and I found a tube of paint in the box with ANY packing material (luckily the tube was not opened). I was also very disappointed as it appears to be an old tube of paint with pigments separating from the linseed oil. I have bought many tubes from Winsor and Newton and they have never been like this. I'm very excited to see how it looks on canvas.

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Discontinued model

The oil has settled a bit.

I bought mainly Winsor & Newton colors for a while and was a bit disappointed with this oversized titanium white as there was a lot of oil coming out of the tube when I first opened it. I've tried holding it down hoping the oil will rise to the top but that doesn't seem to help. As far as I can tell, the paint I've used so far seems fine. If anyone knows the solution, please let me know.

Pros
  • Winton Oil Color offers quality and affordability by using inexpensive pigments instead of pigment reduction and color degradation.
Cons
  • Little things

I love Winsor and Newton

I love Winsor and Newton. They are of the highest quality! I used this and other colors to paint some statues on the outside a year ago. I still have to clean the statues. When I got close to see them the colors are still vibrant and not peeling. I was very worried because I was drawing them for someone. I suspect that after a year the paint should be dry enough to be able to apply a clear UV protective layer over it.

Pros
  • Ideal for students and hobbyists as well as more experienced artists who need large amounts of paint at a reasonable price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

WN is a good brand to paint with

For oil painting. WN is an affordable and reliable brand. The only NEGATIVE symbol is the cap of the tube. Once pulled out, it is very difficult to put back in. After a while you lose all the caps and the oil pan on the pipes becomes hard and can't be pushed out. We need to poke a hole in it with the poker and push it out as hard as we can. Pretty soon the paint will fully cure and you will need to buy a new tube. Such a shame. I'm surprised no one has ever complained about this. Maybe there…

Pros
  • The Winton range is more even in consistency than Artists' Oils and is slightly denser. It offers excellent preservation of brush and spatula strokes.
Cons
  • Something else
