works exactly as described on fine wire

These works are amazing. They work exactly as described on 18-20 of each smaller wire. I encountered the dent issue described by another reviewer when using it for thicker wire or pins. I am very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Ideal for wire bending, wire wrapping, beading and jewelry repair
Cons
  • No Automatic

Better in theory than practical

These pliers might seem like a good idea, but in practice it hasn't worked out. I bought these pliers thinking they would help me make better wire loops. The concave part of the sponge will cut into the wire and break the wire. I tried squeezing the pliers with less pressure when making the loops, but that pressure wasn't enough to hold the wire in place and bend it. I wanted to send them back but it wasn't worth the return shipping cost.

Pros
  • Ideal for jewellers, beaders and artisans
Cons
  • So far so good

Serves the purpose but is not a precision instrument

They just don't fit my use. The concave is poorly formed and the tip (where I make most of the loop) is unevenly thick at the ends of the U-shape so it doesn't grip the wire very well (20 gauge). The first pair I bought a few years ago and a new pair bought recently have this problem. However, it can still be used. However, I haven't found anything better. I would have been willing to pay more for a fine and accurate instrument, but I couldn't find one. Since I twist steel wire, I don't have…

Pros
  • Box joint design keeps jaws aligned even under load
Cons
  • Not bad but...
