They just don't fit my use. The concave is poorly formed and the tip (where I make most of the loop) is unevenly thick at the ends of the U-shape so it doesn't grip the wire very well (20 gauge). The first pair I bought a few years ago and a new pair bought recently have this problem. However, it can still be used. However, I haven't found anything better. I would have been willing to pay more for a fine and accurate instrument, but I couldn't find one. Since I twist steel wire, I don't have the denting problem that others have reported. UPDATE: I ordered another pair, thinking the tool tip inaccuracy might have been an accident, but the new pair are exactly the same. Downgrade from 3 to 2 stars.
