    I will avoid Canon printers.

Canon printers have an estimated lifespan of 2 years before a "critical hardware problem" (as Canon support called it) occurs. This is the second Canon printer to suddenly fail without rough handling or poor operating conditions. The printer has been stored in a dust-free, climate-controlled environment and has been cleaned and maintained as recommended in the manual. The printer was using ink as if it were being used to generate the electricity needed to run the printer, but was otherwise…

Out of production so reviews don't matter

I have terribly mixed feelings about the review of this printer. I had 2 of them and the second one just died. Both encountered the same hardware failure (which is commonly thought of as built-in obsolescence) after almost exactly 2 years of use (more or less a month). I've used this printer so little since I bought it that I didn't even use half of the first set of replacement cartridges. As this expensive unit appears to only have a 12 month…

After much thought, reading consumer reports and online reviews (such as PCMag, Tom's http://www.tomsguide.com/us/canon-pixma-mg7520-printer,review-2501.html etc .d .) and reading Revain reviews (until I could remember which review was for which printer). I settled on my pick - Canon Pixma MG 7520. A little background: I used to have a direct-connect USB printer (no Wi-Fi) from HP - all in an HP1610. Everything was fine when printing, but the inks were expensive and often the cartridges dried…
