Wood Trick Treasure Wooden Puzzle Kit Review

The first part was broken, so it is almost impossible to assemble everything correctly. It is assembled with toothpicks and the toothpick holes are not the right size. Very frustrating and not worth the money.

I've read reviews where people said the box doesn't work and since mine works like a champ I suspect they aren't grinding well and/or waxing thoroughly. I had to work the mechanism a good 15 times to get it moving smoothly, but after that it works great! The details fit perfectly. So give it a good wax and work on the gears as you assemble them.

We bought this as a present for our daughter who wanted a new jewelry box. Wife and daughter liked to collect. This is a great project! It took some patience and mechanical adjustments (grinding/waxing) but the finished product was worth it. We have already bought a second wooden puzzle Wood Trick 3D. Family vacation at its finest!

I've put together two of these now and I think the sets are a task for the more experienced person. Careful attention must be paid to how everything works once assembled as there is so much rotation and movement in the finished product. I find the assembly instructions impeccable and the finished product really beautiful. Will be a great gift once assembled.

The tolerances on this one are ridiculously tight. You would think it was designed to return from outer space. The parts only broke because they followed the instructions. Suggestion to the manufacturer to loosen up a bit. Not every slot needs to be a permanent building permit. Only two moving parts closest to both sides. If there is more than one see step 24 then place those tight tolerances on the outside.

It was a great project. A few things for beginners, you get a hammer with the kit, as well as sandpaper and wax. I didn't understand that there is a hammer in the middle 😂. This sucker will come in handy! That little circled lever is tricky, so be careful when assembling everything. My lever isn't working as it should because I missed a detail somewhere. Eh, it's still very cute and fun to collect! I loved seeing people adjust theirs, super cute. Much luck!

Wood is 1.5 times thicker than ROKR models. This made it difficult to work with details. It was even difficult to pull them out from under the sheets. Assembling the 5th gear was tricky and took 3 days to put together. When you're done, the drawers won't work quite right and will need to be pushed, opened, and closed. It's very durable, with thicker wood. It should stand up to actual use and not just be a model to look at. It was very difficult but very fun. Every step worked for me.

I ended up giving up on this set because many of the pieces had to be sanded down. First, the plywood isn't very smooth, and second, the outlines of the pieces didn't fit together properly. When knocked out, they had small "steps" in areas that should have been smooth. Usually these wood sets have some extra stock where they are stamped from the sheet metal, but these "steps" were much larger.
