Love love this coffee table. The wood is strong and, as mentioned, the hinges that attach it to the sofa's armrest are incredibly strong. Be careful. But that's what makes it so wonderful. I'm in a small apartment; There is no room for side tables and this is perfect for my water bottle, phone and remote control. Too small for a plate. But I was able to fit a small plate for a coffee cup and a glass of water.

Very good for storing remote controls and other things on our sofa. I would say the spring is a little tighter than I would like. This causes a permanent depression on one of our more flexible sofas, so we moved it to our more rigid sofa. Both armrests of the couch are slightly narrower than the width of the couch, so the legs tilt a bit to hold on to the couch, which may be why it's narrow and causing this indentation.

The armrests of my sofa are very wide. The tray didn't fit. I removed the clamps, added a few pieces of wood to the long ends, and reinstalled the clamps. Now it fits perfectly and I can put it on the front of my arm so my elbow doesn't hit it. The bottom of the tray is very cheap and reedy as I drilled holes for the screws. I had to screw on a piece of wood because the glue wouldn't hold. Trey holds my remote and mug well. The tray can support my 10lb cat sitting on it.

The tray fits well on my chubby armchair. My only complaint is the color. I ordered cherry because my chair is brown leather. What I received looked black. They sent me a replacement and it was the same. Both boxes were labeled "Cherry" but the trays look black instead of brown as shown in the photo. Overall I like this armrest clip but I really think a sofa armrest should be pretty flat and square/rectangular. I really don't see that well with a large sofa armrest that's mostly upholstered. My sofa/armrest is about 5.25 inches wide. It's pretty stable, but I think if I don't center something properly, it can easily slip to the side and spill the contents of my cup onto the side. I really like it. He's holding onto the armrest of my sofa. I have a sofa and chair with the armrests folded down and they snap into place very well. I've never had a spill or a fuss, not even from kids and a curious cat. In fact I'm here to get another one for the sofa so other guests can use it too.
