I bought it for my mare and will use it when needed. She has ruptured an abscess and has several parts of a hoof that we expect she will lose. Very simply made, not bulky and looks solid. I ordered a size 6 after measuring her foot and using the inch to millimeter conversion chart. Hair can be large so order smaller if between sizes.

I really appreciated this product! It was a boot strong enough to keep my big guy's hoof dry during a nasty abscess and infection (2 month trial)! I had to order 2 so I could have one dry and alternate. Of course, the diaper/vet wrap/tape daily relieved the pain! This is WW's largest boot - size 9. He is an Irish sport horse with a size 5 shoe.

This boot is great for cleaning a wound or infection on your horse's hoof! Easy to put on and my horse doesn't seem to mind. When used with flared boots it can last a while even if your horse is in a sandy pasture! I ordered the size he measured and it was really tight. For the next one I ordered a size up, it was easier to put on and had less damage (rips in the fabric and tears in the sole of the boot) than the smaller size. I can recommend this medical boot!

Too hot as the boot is neoprene which has a high bacterial content when the hooves sweat Zipper. This may be a good boot for horses in a smart stable and colder temperatures but where I live my stable gets flooded in spring and is very dirty, the plastic zip doesn't last long filled with mud and the angle of the zip won't let me down Boots don't fully open and I think it will be difficult for me to put the boot on. My rescued four-legged mare has had a congenital front hoof defect with episodes of progressive abscesses for years, dipping her foot in a makeshift pool of urine and manure primarily for relief after hoof trimming, apparently from times of soaking laminitis (she's very smart but not a doctor).
