Rust after 1 use. good for painting tools

- this has to be high quality - whatever is holding the brass bristles to the head is not rust proof - it will rust after a single use - this is normal for the $3 version. but at $22 it's a shame - a manufacturer should be proud and spend an extra 3 cents per unit to switch the bristle holders from metal to stainless steel or copper. - be proud of what you do and fix it.

Pros
  • Durable polypropylene handle
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Not like the green handle

The new model has fewer bristles and wears out quickly as the brushes clean well. Buy a green composite comb if you can. It has way more bristles than the new model. I've had the opportunity to buy a few but I believe Worcester will be making greens for the rest of the century. Well I guess the end of time has finally come. Shame on Wooster for dealing with quality and your customers.

Pros
  • 12-prong stainless steel comb for faster cleaning and rinsing
Cons
  • weak

Great tool and brush saver.

This is our most popular brush cleaning tool. We have bought several over the past 15 years. We actually wear out the bristles with use. Our brushes are old (15+) and with this tool they can work without paint and work well. The thinner brass bristles penetrate the strands directly and remove color from the inside of the brush. The hard teeth help when the paint dries on the hub when we are working on a long project or we can wrap the brush between coats. We gave away a few to friends who areโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Rust-free brass bristles gently remove stubborn paint deposits.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price.

Every artist needs that!

I wish I had known about this brush years ago. I paint my workshop in hot, humid conditions which causes the paint to stick and dry on my brush. This comb helps scrape dried paint off the bristles and then helps reshape the brush for the next use. By removing paint from the inside of the brush, the bristles do not tangle and remain flexible, greatly increasing the lifespan and drawing quality of the brush. Good quality comb, brass bristles stay straight and don't tangle like brass bristlesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 2 Side Painters Comb
Cons
  • Expensive

Useful for reusing brushes, but wire bristles are too soft

Brushes have never been reused by me until now. While doing my research on procrastination, I read about using wire brushes to really clean them. I used to do underwater races and hand gestures. Latex paint pooled on the brush and killed it. But I have better brushes. Now I brush them with a wire brush (not too rough or you'll damage the brush) and all the color comes out. If something is dry, soaking in mineral spirits can help, but be sure to start with new brushes. I liked it at first butโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Overall length 8 1/4 inches
Cons
  • I will write later

Great time and money saver removing paint

Bought this after buying an old farmhouse and needing to paint. I had to paint in the few free hours I had each day, so I cleaned a lot. These things have revolutionized the way I clean my brushes. It's much faster with this tool. I use my teeth or comb to comb the brush through while washing the paint off. If you slide the tines through the brush and then pull them back toward the handle, you can get a lot of paint by pouring water on the brush. I use a section of the brush to brush driedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Also reshapes brush before storage
Cons
  • Slightly torn
