Description of 🐱 Wysong Epigen 90 Dry Diet for Canine and Feline - Premium Pet Food

The first extruded dry diet/kibble pet food that is Starch Free (Epigen does what "Grain Free" dog food and cat foods only pretend to do). More closely resembles the food your pet is designed to eat. Has the natural flavor and taste that pets truly desire. Is replete with all the critical food elements Wysong was first to put into pet foods – probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, phytonutrients, nutraceuticals, natural form antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Contains unprecedented and unequalled meat content, including organic. Rich in omega-3's and other essential fatty acids. Very nutrient dense. Introduce slowly according to the feeding guidelines. Can be used as a protein booster and meal supplement. Manufactured by Wysong in accordance with strict quality control protocols. Wysong has been a leader in pet nutrition since 1979.

Rough adjustment period but fine after

Mixing with other products for my pet was a bit strong and caused black diarrhea. It took them a while to get used to it, but after a period of adjustment, eating it made them healthier.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons

Lab/Boxer mix for weak yeast growth

Vet tested and said yeast was to blame but they didn't insist on changing my dog's diet. The only thing I wish was that the pieces of food were larger for his size/breed. I am very happy with this purchase. This has greatly affected the health of my dogs.

Pros
  • Highest ratings for support and longevity by testers
Cons
  • Available in white only

The food is useless to my dog

Just the small amount I put in my boxer's food made him VERY sick. Tried three times and from two different bags. Be careful before buying many of these foods. It is very expensive and your dog may not be able to handle it. Instead I tried Nature's Variety Grain Free and now I have a very happy dog. It's also very expensive, but my dogs yeast problems have almost gone!

Terrible farts and uncontrollable diarrhea in both of my dogs.

It was terrible. I slowly introduced it into my existing dog food over the course of a month. After my dogs fully switched to this food, they both had uncontrollable diarrhea for over 3 weeks. You're not eating now. My Aussie had horrible farts too. I signed up thinking the dog food was worth it based on the reviews. It doesn't, and now it won't let me return a new box that was delivered a few days ago.

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Safety

My cats eat Wysong and have a history of IBD

I gave my cats Wysong because I thought it would be a good dry food for my diabetic cat. He and two of my other cats have been diagnosed with IBD. Two passed. I never associated their indigestion with Wysong until I read the negative reviews. One of my cats recently developed severe diarrhea accompanied by gas, as described by other pet owners. My cats are fed Wysong dry food and another brand of wet food. I am horrified at the thought of feeding my cats dry food that I thought was 'high…

I was very happy to see that there are actually 4 sealed packets.

I was delighted to receive this in 4 5lb bags packed in a carton. Ordering a £20 bag can save you money, but as the product page shows a large bag I was concerned about keeping it fresh. I was very happy to see that they are actually 4 sealed packets so they stay fresh until needed. Don't know if this is the usual £20 package but I was very happy to receive it that way. When it comes to food, my boo absolutely adores it and it's very hard to get him to eat a second portion of wet food when he…

Pros
  • 1 year trial

  • poorly thought out

Update after several years of use. A dish of excellent quality.

I have a large tuxedo cat that was quite overweight. After using regular Epigen for a couple of years I switched to 1/8C Epigen 90 plus 1/5 can of EVO wet cat and kitten food in a large can twice a day and he has lost two pounds in the last 6 months and is happy when he eats. He always tries to eat more but stops insisting on food when I agree with him, unlike other foods that make him very hungry and fat all the time. I think this is the only dry food on the market that I would use for a cat…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
