Nice replacement. The material looks just as good as the original, but there are 20 ribs instead of 28 in the original. I didn't find any smells. It fits just like the original, we used a YouTube video and the replacement took less than 10 minutes.

This is a high quality filter that installs exactly as directed. (According to the car's installation instructions) The filter material doesn't seem flimsy/cheap, so I believe it will last a long time and filter dust and particles well.

The filter removal tab is located on the underside of the detachable side and not on top relative to the airflow arrows. So either the tab is attached incorrectly or the filter is labeled upside down, I pointed the filter arrow toward the rear of the car. OEM filters usually have a filter tab that attaches to the top of the filter on the extraction side. If you install this filter with the tab up, the flow arrow will point toward the front of the vehicle.

I've bought 4 of these for our LEAF over the years. The filter airflow arrow and removal tab are relative to the OEM and have confirmed that if you install the filter with the tab facing up, the arrow will point in the wrong direction. Set the tab down and the arrow will point in the correct airflow direction. The filter material has a different texture on each side, so orientation can make a difference.

I bought both this filter and the Nissan filter and compared them visually. The number of folds is much larger on Nissan products. The paper quality is about the same for filtration purposes. Both have exactly the same size according to the external dimensions. The old filter wasn't that dirty but after removing the glove box as I saw in the video I decided to go with a Nissan product. Very easy to fit if you know what you are doing. 15 YouTube videos and websites told me I needed to remove the glove box, which I did before realizing it wasn't really necessary. Due to complications, 40 minutes were wasted on it. So before you run it, check if it isn't necessary. Tbh should have been maybe 5 minutes. If you buy this for Nissan Leaf, please choose the easy installation method, do not remove the glove box completely. Simply unplug the connector under the glove box to open the cabin air filter cover. Use your fingers to remove the cabin filter cover, pull out the old filter and install the new one, then close the cabin filter cover, then the glove box cover and you're done. It
