Installation instructions not included

Just received this product and was surprised and disappointed that no installation instructions came with it. As I expected, additional cables were required to connect the device, but the consumer (me) had to figure out how and where to install this device to get the claimed visibility improvement. I understand technology, but it took me a few more hours to figure out what, where and how to install this device. Not very user friendly. The MINIMUM that should be expected from any device are…

This device is great!

I chose this device based on what I found, it is the only one that can receive both S-Video and composite video. I always try to transfer video in the highest quality possible, so I use S-Video whenever possible. Every other device I looked at only accepted component video. The difference between them is almost always obvious. I also invested in two quality 3ft cables to complete the ensemble. Good quality cables that are no longer than necessary are also an important part of a good…

Removes copy protection from lower Comcast channels!

I recently received a new cable box from Comcast after my old one died and to my dismay I discovered that the new cable box was sending a 'no record' signal to the downstream channels added, so i can't burn programs with the dvd burner. I like the time difference and didn't like this new "feature". This little device is the perfect solution. The video connection went from my cable box through Grex-7.4 and then to my DVD burner. the problem is that the "don't record" signal has been removed. I…

Works well but not on all bands.

Very easy to connect. It works on most old VHS tapes that you want to keep. I copied my old VHS tapes to disc because a lot of the VHS tapes go bad over time. The only disappointment for me was the fact that I have an old set of VHS tapes that I can't replace nor find on the disc. These old tapes contain some kind of signal that prevents the XDIMAX GREX video stabilizer from copying them. If anyone knows what or how to overcome this I would love to know. Aside from that one set of VHS tapes…

GREAT PRODUCT IN SMALL PACKAGING!

I've been using a different brand stabilizer for over 15 years and it still works great. However since it is no longer in production I figured I should look for another one so I can have a backup. I read the mostly positive reviews for the GREX 7.4 and figured I'd take it, try it and if it's not good, I'll send it back. I've spent the last four hours testing it. I've converted VHS to -VHS, VHS to DVD, DVD to DVD, Blu-Ray to DVD (using an old player with composite outputs), Roku to DVD, DirecTV…

Works very well for me.

In the form in which I use it, the device has worked well for me. I only use it for off-air programs and for copying personal DVDs and old VHS tapes. I only connect when using. The only downside is that this is an oddly shaped device and there's a slight drop in quality, but that could just be due to the switch from HDMI to S-Video. And I wish it had HDMI, but I know it doesn't, but I knew it didn't when I ordered it, so I can't knock on that. It's true that it doesn't come with a manual, but…

Works great so far.

Bought because I have some copy protected VHS that I want to burn to DVD. Some because I don't have the film on DVD, some because I want to keep the VHS features with previews etc, and some don't exist on DVD or are very hard to find. It was easy to hook up, although I kinda screwed it up the first time. But I succeeded on the second try and at the moment I've burned two VHS tapes to DVD, which I couldn't do before, and this is my third time doing this. I've wanted to get one of these and try…
