Overview of the package based on the audio track.

This 3-star rating does not apply to the game. As far as I know, Xenoblade Chronicles X is in the same league as Skyrim or Mass Effect. I would easily rate this 4.5 to 5 stars. In fact, I'm not even that frustrated with the package most of the time, but one glaring issue is slowing it down. The audio track is DRM protected and requires you to keep the USB port plugged in for playback unless you do some workarounds. If you like the game and want to get the music, I suggest you ignore this…

My 2015 GOTY.: Games

I've been waiting for this game for so long and I'm 100% impressed; Xenoblade Chronicles X takes all the charm and magic of the original game and smacks you in the face with this gigantic world, tons of content and HUGE MECH. You don't have to play the original Xenoblade to find out, although you won't notice a few small details and should learn the game mechanics; All of this can be accomplished with the extensive in-game manual, which does a VERY good job of teaching you things that the game…

A Massive Open World JRPG

Special Edition: The packaging is a great showpiece. I've been asked more than once what the game is about just because of the skeleton on the cover. like art in a book, deep understanding of different art styles through development. But it seemed to me that the format is a bit wasteful on some pages. Too bad it's not a hardcover. I like the sound selection in USB when there is a very limited number of tracks. However, I really don't like the fact that they are on USB as they are really…

Just get the game and the artbook separately. Everything else is crap.

For $90 I would have expected better quality control. I'm giving it 3 stars because the items in the game box weren't affected. The package it came in was Type 25c which did NOT include bubble wrap. The box was literally the only defense. So, of course, the Special Edition box was squeezed. At least the game's packaging (which actually contains the game disc) and the artbook were fine. Then I saw the flash drive with the soundtrack. There's a soundtrack on it, like 10 songs (sarcasm), and it…

Worth buying WiiU for

Is that Xenogears? For better or for worse, no. Xenosaga? Absolutely not. Xenoblade? If you've played the first part, you'll recognize the combat, collection, and equipment systems, but not otherwise. Is it an instant classic that I will repeat a dozen times for years to come? The jury is still out, but so far it seems a bit slow and vague in offering a hard-hitting, harrowing replay experience. What it is, however, is unmistakably a monolith. A deep, rich setting with good character…
