Ideal for multiple local displays for remote desktop solutions

They were perfect for my work PC, the was brought home at the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. On my home PC when using Microsoft Remote Desktop I needed 3 of these stubs.

Pros
  • High resolution hardware accelerated remote desktop, supports resolutions from 800 x 600 to 4K Mini DP / Thunderbolt 2 Max 3840 x 2160 17Hz
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Works Great: Computers and Accessories

I was very frustrated because although all the settings showed that one of my two monitors was 1440p, everything I moved on it changed to 1080p (roughly). I used the Nvidia control panel to check, reboot, connect and disconnect etc until finally I went into windows settings and win10 applied 125% resolution scaling! So if anyone else is having a similar issue, check your Windows display settings in addition to your GPU settings. Also, it's only 1440p at 30Hz, which is only acceptable because I…

Pros
  • Appears as a headless ghost display in the OS graphics properties window for easy differentiation from other displays.
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Works as advertised

You are simulating a 4k display so you can remotely connect to a headless machine with GPU hardware acceleration. Also hot plugging. Unplugging the Displayport connectors is a bit tricky as the spring clip is a bit tight and is on the bottom for the standard GPU orientation.

Pros
  • OS and software independent - works on Windows, OSX, Linux and pretty much everything else.
Cons
  • Lean Instruction

They fit perfectly on my work PC which I brought home at the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. When I was working, I had 3 displays connected to my work PC. In order to use 3 displays on my home PC when using Microsoft Remote Desktop I needed 3 of these blanks.

Pros
  • Appears as a phantom screen with no display in the operating system graphics properties window for easy differentiation from other displays.
Cons
  • Not sure

Works great with DVI to HDMI adapters

1440p, everything I've moved in has been changed to 1080p. I used the Nvidia control panel to check, reboot, connect and disconnect etc until finally I went into windows settings and win10 applied 125% resolution scaling! So if anyone else is having a similar issue, check your Windows display settings in addition to your GPU settings. Also, it's only 1440p at 30Hz, which is only acceptable because I use it for office work.

Pros
  • Unleashes the full potential of a hardware graphics card, a good choice for game streaming, VR, etc.
Cons
  • High price

does what i need

I'm running a headless Plex server and I want to make sure I'm not having problems with Remote Desktop; Others report that the GPU (discrete, not integrated) does not output correctly without an actual monitor connected in terms of hardware transcoding. Not only do they work great, but they report a 4k60 monitor to the system (unlike cheaper alternatives that only report a 1080p display quality). Not only that, but also DisplayPort, which is required for the Quadro P2200 that my server uses…

Pros
  • Plug and play, hot-swappable, no drivers, configuration or power required - just install and forget.
Cons
  • Not sure
