You need Portable Audio & Video

In my area, add a 4 foot piece of wire and the fun begins. FM is good, AM is bright and shortwave is better than I expected. If you love radio and remember the days when analog was all you had and needed, you need this radio.

Good Hurricane Radio

Good Hurricane Radio. I didn't realize until the storm that all my little radios were gone. This is good. The only problem is the very tight on/off switch. It works but we're not used to it yet, we thought we'd break it. Great tone for a box.

Can't receive AM newsfeed at all!

I brought this product to us in an emergency so AM is the most informative channel here in Miami Florida. This thing catches everything but the AM 610. I've had a similar one for many years and it worked great until I left the batteries out for too long. It's almost a direct replacement, but completely useless for my use case.

Great reception, really good sound quality. Good build quality.

The reception is actually very good. Management is easy. The volume wheel is a power button that can feel a bit fiddly at times. The tuning wheel is good and can drift a bit over time. He needs a stand. I have a Tecsun PL-380 which is much more expensive and has a stand. However, the R909 sounds phenomenally better than the PL-380, at least for music. I prefer 380 clarity for voice stations. I've never figured out what the DX/Local switch actually does. The DX only seems to amplify the signal…

The radio station R-909 stopped working in less than 5 minutes, the MW / SW bands were not working.

Received this radio (R-(909) today 27th March 2020 and was happy to put in batteries and start testing, unfortunately the radio stopped hearing in less less than 5 minutes to work so i replaced the AA batteries with a new pair but the radio still didn't work i checked the batteries in another unit and they worked and tested them with a volt meter and they were fully charged i then tried a 3 volt supply, the power supply and radio happened to work, and happened to require me to hold the power…

Very disappointed with this radio

I bought this radio after reading a very good review about it on Todderbert. I have relied on Todderbert's reviews for many of my previous radio purchasing decisions. Other Tecsun radios I've bought have worked perfectly so this radio might just be an anomaly but its FM reception is very poor. I tried unsuccessfully to tune into a semi-local college station - about 25 miles away - that plays classical music (on 88.5). Despite my considerable efforts, including replacing the Enloop batteries…
